The Ian Furness Show

THE IAN FURNESS SHOW PRESENTED BY SNOQUALMIE CASINO, SEATTLE’S CLOSET SPORTSBOOK

Furness Show 12-19: Stewart Mandel, Anne McCoy and Corbin Smith

The Seahawks have a tougher road ahead down the stretch as compared to the Rams, who they face in the final game of the season. Ian revisits the news of Dickert's departure yesterday and doesn't blame anyone for their emotions, regardless of what they were. Stewart Mandel, The Athletic understands the position the Cougars are in right now and explains the reasons why Jake Dickert may have opted to head to Wake Forest. Who might be decent candidates to replace him? Michael Vick is heading to college football to coach - how will he fare? We take a look ahead at the bowl games as well as the CFP this year. We hear from interim WSU HC Pete Kaligis following bowl practice today. Anne McCoy, Washington State Athletic Director joins Ian to talk about Jake Dickert's departure from the program. She's looking ahead and understands that these things happen in CFB but admits the players likely didn't expect their coach to leave prior to the bowl game with how close we are to it. Why was Pete Kaligis the right person to take over as interim? Timing-wise, she doesn't want to rush this process and a lot of candidates are still coaching. She feels it should happen soon, but won't sacrifice a good candidate to save a few days. Opposing fans coming into Lumen Field and taking over is new to this fanbase - but the Seahawks need to control what they can, which is winning. That would help when it comes to fans. In The Daily Power Play! We have a new sponsor coming on and a new player on the Kraken from whom we hear. Corbin Smith, Seahawks Maven and Locked on Seahawks joins us to take a look ahead at tonight's Thursday night matchup, which is sneaky good. Who is to blame for the Seahawks woes when we see them struggle? Also, why has the Seahawks' offensive line regressed? Good playcalling can mitigate poor offensive line play, so Corbin does lay some at the feet of OC Ryan Grubb.
