Updates: Everything on the line again at Dallas in game 7

No surprises are likely in store potentially for a lineup the Seattle Kraken will deploy in the ultimate “anything can happen” showdown, game seven, looking to again fight off elimination against the Dallas Stars and advance onto the Western Conference Final on Monday at American Airlines Center, 5pm PT (93.3 KJR / Kraken Audio Network).

The winner will face the Vegas Golden Knights, with the series schedule yet to be announced.

Philipp Grubauer will be the likely starter in net, no surprise, as reported this morning from NHL.com’s Bob Condor. Grubauer is set to make his third game seven appearance of his career, carrying a 1-1 record.

Despite an .865 save percentage in this series, Grubauer was brilliant in the most recent “everything on the line” outing, eliminating the Colorado Avalanche last round at Ball Arena on a 33-save effort against his former team.

Jordan Eberle, turning 33 years of age today and dodging some light-hearted, game day dressing room humor according to ROOT Sports’ Piper Shaw, is one of many experienced veterans in the Kraken dressing room who have combined for a 35-8 record in game seven situations.

Eberle was one of the best players on the ice in a game six victory on Saturday in Seattle, scoring a pair of goals while adding an assist to fight off the Stars and tie the series. Among other veterans with notable experience: Jaden Schwartz, 5-0 in career game seven situations with four assists, and Yanni Gourde, who has five points and a game winning goal in his last three elimination games.

Dallas is likely to turn back to Jake Oettinger again in net, one of the top goaltenders in the league but showing vulnerability in a series that’s gone the distance. He’s been pulled twice in six games – the first ever in his playoff career – and has an .865 save percentage in six games.
