Selena Quintanilla Perez's widow and the late singer's family have agreed to put aside their legal differences over her legacy.
"Good news! I wanted to give everyone an update to let you know that I have amicably resolved my legal dispute with Abraham Quintanilla, Jr. and the entire Quintanilla family," Chris Perez, Selena's husband, announced on Twitter.
"Now that these issues are behind us, going forward, my hope, and the hope of the Quintanilla family, is for us to work together to continue to honor and celebrate the legacy of Selena."
Selena's father Abraham Quintanilla Jr. sued Perez in 2016 over a TV deal based on Perez's memoir “To Selena, With Love," according to KSAT.
Quintanilla accused his son-in-law of violating an agreement he signed to turn over all rights to Selena's image and likeness to the Quintanilla family.
Perez counter sued in 2017 and claimed that his father-in-law took advantage of his grief over Selena's murder before making him sign the agreement. Both Selena's father and husband have since filed a motion to dismiss the lawsuits, the Corpus Christi Caller-Times reported.
Quintanilla's disapproval of Selena's early relationship with Perez is well documented. The couple met when Perez joined Selena's band Los Dinos. They married in secret in 1992, three years before Selena's death.
