Former Naked and Afraid star Sarah Danser has died at the age of 34 after being involved in a car crash in Hawaii, KSLA reports.
A 59-year-old man Danser was traveling with reportedly crashed into a parked car after losing control of his vehicle on Sunday (October 20). Danser was reported to be in the passenger seat at the time of the accident and was rushed to the hospital for critical injuries, which she succumbed to on October 22.
The driver was also hospitalized and is reported to still be in serious condition. Another woman who was in the parked vehicle at the time of the crash was also hospitalized while a male inside the vehicle refused treatment, the Honolulu Police Department confirmed.
Police said speed was a factor in the crash but drugs and alcohol weren't involved. Danser, who identified herself as a "pirate" and a "boat captain, SCUBA Diver [and] Survivalist" in her social media bios, appeared on Naked and Afraid in 2017, its spin-off, Naked and Afraid XL, the following year and Fight to Survive in 2023.
“Magical is the way to describe her,” Sarah’s brother, Jake Danser, told KSLA. “Sarah had this positive energy about her that just really filled the environment that she was in.”
“I actually saw how much of a difference she made in the lives of others. I think she saved my life once, diving in Indonesia,” her father, Dan Danser, added.
