Tuesday morning Gregg Bell (Tacoma News Tribune) joined Chuck and Buck and was asked who stood out to him in Seahawks preseason game 1. Without hesitation, Gregg said rookie tackle, Abe Lucas stood out, saying he was "quick on his feet, athletic and putting Steelers on his back," referring to several plays in which the former Cougar impressed. Gregg also discussed Travis Homer's impressive outing.
There are possible rumors that Gabe Jackson could be cut, Gregg weighed in on the veteran and the reasoning behind the potential move.
On paper, Geno Smith and Drew Lock had similar games on Saturday, but in actuality, it wasn't that close. Gregg said they've had each qb in specialty situations and it seemed as if Geno Smith was better in those situations. On the other hand, Drew Lock hasn't had the opportunities with the 1's like Smith has and the comparison is more like "apples to oranges" than "apples to apples." Will things change on Thursday? Gregg says it's "high time to get this competition to be equitable and equal."
Ugo Amadi was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for wide receiver JJ Arcega-Whiteside to beef up a receiving corp that has been struggling with injuries. Gregg also discussed the trade and how Arcega-Whiteside could help this Seahawks team.
